Clean Water Atlanta Program Management Team
Public Involvement Coordination-Sewer System Evaluation Survey & Consent Decree Program. The Clean Water Atlanta Program is an integrated plan to improve water quality regionally by assessing, repairing, and upgrading the entire wastewater treatment, management and transportation system (sewer) and associated components for the City of Atlanta. Baton Rouge SSO Program

DeKalb County Snapfinger Pole-Bridge Plant Expansion
The purpose of this project was to upgrade and expand DeKalb’s two advanced wastewater treatment facilities, to ensure the plants would adequately serve DeKalb residents and businesses well into the future (with an expected population of 900,000 by 2015). Coosa Basin Nutrient Trading Project
The North Georgia Water Resources Partnership conducted a feasibility study of Nutrient Water Quality Trading in the Coosa River Basin. Marsh Creek Pump Station
The Marsh Creek Pump Station Project was an initiative to replace the existing pump station with a new, state-of-the-art pump station with upgraded equipment and flow monitoring devices. Once the new pump station was commissioned, the wastewater treatment facility was decommissioned and demolished. The new pump station occupies approximately 2 acres of the 23 acre campus. The Atlanta City Council adopted groundbreaking legislation for the amended Post-Development Stormwater Ordinance Management, drafted by the Department of Watershed Management promoting the use of green infrastructure practices in new and redevelopment projects in the City. Provided meeting facilitation and documentation of comments and discussion topics for the Savannah-Ogeechee Basin Advisory Council monthly meetings. Council convened to review and discuss regional water concerns identified by DNR and provide feedback and suggestions on management of these issues. Alcovy Watershed Management Program
Study was made to protect the Alcovy River basin and commissioned by the Northeast Georgia Regional Development Center. Services Provided: Created educational materials and study reports for each of the 15 participating municipalities and its citizens during this two-year watershed protection study. Coordinated public meetings. Produced the project’s executive summary.
Rockdale County Water Resources Treatment Plant Project
Conducted monthly meetings with a 25-member citizens’ advisory group formed to provide fiscal oversight to elected officials during construction of the county’s first water treatment plant. Coordinated with the county’s communications manager to create massive public information campaign reporting road closings, detours, and construction schedules for pipe installation to help alleviate possible inconveniences due to the construction of the water [Read More…]
Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority Quarles Plant Expansion
Responsible for working with water authority staff to inform citizens residing near the Quarles Water Treatment Plant of plans to expand the plant from 64 mgd to 84 mgd over a three year period. Developed mailings, websites, public meetings, and educational materials.
Big Creek WPCP Interim Capacity Improvements Evaluation
Responsible for working with county staff to develop a project information campaign targeting local residents, County Commissioners, and other interested parties for a wastewater treatment plant improvement project. Created informational materials such as status reports, presentations, and display boards, in addition to coordinating a series of public meetings.
Fulton County Water Resources Management Program
Part of the NPDES permitting process to expand wastewater treatment facilities and develop storm water management plan. The project included the Camp Creek, Little River, Big Creek, Johns Creek, and the Sandy Springs watersheds. Camp Creek Water Pollution Control Plant Permit …
Worked with county staff and the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) to create a communications plan to inform citizens of the permit request to expand the plant prior to EPD public hearings. Butner Road and Camp Creek Parkway Improvements
FCC was responsible for project signage and Pubic Involvement on this project which involved improvements to the intersection of Butner Road and Camp Creek Parkway. The project proposed widening Butner Road at the Camp Creek intersection; Building a trail connecting the Bill Edwards Nature trail to the south side of Camp Creek Pkwy; and upgrading the intersection’s traffic signals. Rivers Alive Statewide Cleanup
Developed an employee program for an environmental engineering firm encouraging participation in the statewide Rivers Alive cleanup effort. Crafted engaging materials supporting involvement in this worthwhile effort and successfully increasing employee participation in the program by 40 percent. Responsible for solicitation and coordination of corporate sponsorship for this event.
Campaign to Re-elect State Representative Alisha Thomas …
District 39, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010 & 2012 Executed successful campaign management for state representative. In 2004 for example, won the primary election by 86% and the general election by 73%. Coordinated over 200 volunteers. Tracked expenses and filed state disclosure reports.
